"A prospector is working hard to find the precious stones that will make the years of searching worthwhile. One day he finds a stone with a shine and colour that is exquisite, its value immeasurable. The find has the potential to change life in so many ways that at first he was unsure about having it around. Maybe he was more interested in the thrill of the chase than he was in actually finding what he was looking for. At first, he credited all his good fortune on the stones and felt like his life could never measure up to its luminance. It was not until he began to realise that while the stone represented the life he had always wanted to live, it was still his own choice and responsibility to live his life in that way." --- |
This is indeed one of Serge’s most inspiring attributes, the fact that he is so deeply committed to changing the quagmire that humanity is in but is simultaneously unfazed about how long any one individual takes to making these changes. He has the ultimate respect for an individual's free will. He presents commitment without ideology, discipline without judgment, joy without the need for others to choose the same.
Indeed, the most powerful gift he offers, is the space to develop and appreciate our own equal ability, wisdom, power and responsibility to live and shine like the precious stone we are.
Unless we are willing to shine like a diamond for each other all the world will see is coal and think that is all that is possible in this world.
Serge shines so that others might equally shine in their own lives, in their own way.
