This in-depth episode begins with the explosive question – what is the relationship between religion and violence… why do they seem to go hand in hand? But is this the question we need to be asking or do we need to explore the nature of religion itself, what it is and what it definitely isn’t? [First published on: sergebenhayon.tv] Serge Benhayon is interviewed by Rebecca Asquith.

True religion is a simple relationship with the All, universe, how we are together, a true relationship is not violent it is based on Love. I find these interviews, deeply inspiring, full and thoughtful - they consider life from a big perspective, a universal perspective, wide open and infinite.

There is no separation in true religion as we are all returning.

When we consider what true religion is then it's easy to see what religion is not. It is not separation or segregation, it is not anything that does not take every single thing into consideration, it is not shirking responsibility, it is not hate, it is not violence, it is not anything that seeks recognition, it is not something that contains lies, it is not something that harms anything or anyone in any way, it is not reckless, it is not thoughtless, it is not selfish, it is not something that sees God as above or beyond life itself, it is not something that teaches us that God is unreachable, it is not something that promotes guilt, shame or blame, it is not fixed, it is not something that is the same for everyone. There are so many more things that religion is not and unfortunately these things are what so many of our so called religions are made up of.

Yes, it does not resonate to follow belief structures and dogmas of "you should live your life this way". We cannot judge each other for our differences but simply observe and discern what is true and what isn't.

The Science of Reflection is something every human being experiences every moment everywhere, it is the fact that life is reflected back to us that which we are, by that virtue we can ask Am I reading all that Life is bringing? or, is something else at play here and is the existence in my driving seat?

Its a treasure to hear the definition Serge gives of religion — a relationship that is not an imposition . . .

Rick I love how you bring this up, how often do we see things that claim to be one way but are not that actual way? I had this as a kid feeling the truth in God but not seeing or feeling the truth it what was presented as being religious. And therefore being very confused over the name.

You only have to look at the fact that all modern day religions except The Way of The Livingness are not based on the All but on the needs and desires of the group itself. No true religion is based on individuality but on the All and that is way The Way of The Livingness is our one true religion and will be known in the future as such.

Religion is life, religion is a way fo life, it is within us to to be connected to return to deeper connection. I see it no different from cleaning my teeth and washing my hair, how I live is my connection with and of God.And I keno for the last decade of living with this understanding of religion, I live a deeply enriching, settled and joyful life - without perfection. Perfection is not needed, because in the cracks and the rawness we heal and learn.

Serge is one of the first people I have heard talk about religion from a point of view of love, with no judgement, no condemnation and no investment in whether any one 'gets' it.

In this interview Serge describes how it is to have a One-World religion or a one-unified-truth. It is something that is endear to me and I know will one day be true.. How long is dependent of you ..

A great disservice of many of the religious institutions is that they present religion as something confined to the rules, dogma and whatever they put forward as their take on what ‘God said’. We are presented with a closed book of what religion is with no room to reflect and expand our own understanding. Whilst to me, looking at our use of the term religion is an invitation to a far deeper conversation and this gem of an episode is a wonderful example of that.

True religion is expansion and yet the versions of religion that we currently have on earth are all incredibly trussed up and self limiting misrepresentations of religion. They do not represent religion in any way but simply bind those that buy into it in the same way that they themselves are bound.
