Serge Benhayon – A Memorable First Encounter

by Peter Cavanagh

My first encounter with Serge Benhayon occurred in February 2016 when I attended the regularly held, introductory presentation – Livingness 1. At this point I was still quite new to all things Universal Medicine, having only been introduced to it by Jenny Ellis, a Universal Medicine practitioner and to whom I'm now married, when we first met some five weeks earlier.

To provide some context to what follows, so impressed was I by Jenny right from the start of our first meeting, and similarly by a number of her close friends who were also students (as they refer to themselves) of Universal Medicine, that I took up my own study of this subject with great interest. There was something different about these people. I could see and feel it.

And so it was with quite some intrigue and anticipation, when the opportunity arose to attend Livingness 1, that I did attend that event and meet Serge Benhayon that first time. My email to Serge the following day, as shown below, captures the significance to me of that first encounter, how I was impressed by him and my feelings about what he presented.
At this point, I encourage the reader to read my email far below as what follows builds upon it.
In the 20 months that have passed between that first encounter and the point at which I write this, I have attended many more of Serge Benhayon's presentations both to the public and the student body. I now consider myself a dedicated student of Universal Medicine and its religious and philosophical aspect The Way of The Livingness.

Put simply, meeting Serge and discovering Universal Medicine and The Way of The Livingness has been transformational for me. For context here, when we met I was no newcomer to complementary health, philosophy and religion, as all three have been of great interest and importance to me since my youth. I have studied, tried, tested and lived a broad spectrum of such things throughout my life-time. And this is vitally important, because after all I had myself lived, tested and learned, and having discarded much along the way, why should I then find Serge Benhayon and his teachings so impressive, so important, so valuable? What is the difference between him and Universal Medicine and, shall we say, everything else?
As it is my great love and my strong nature to distil everything down to simplicity, to answer my last question above: The difference is that Serge Benhayon lives, exemplifies and presents to humanity our future.
Now, in truth, such simple a statement as that has a colossal volume of significance and meaning behind it. Consider the "everything else" to which I refer, including the realms of medicine, health, philosophy, religion and even modern science, as humanity currently approaches them, in truth are backward looking, being built upon and continually building on only that which is in our past. As a result, in these and all realms of human endeavour, we are therefore constrained, at best only ever producing and living a rework, regurgitating and always confined by what has already been. The evidence of this truth is plain and obvious: Humanity on the whole is not evolving; we are not solving our problems; we continue to abuse and kill one another; we continue to destroy ourselves with war; we continue to suffer disease, disaster, poverty and societal breakdown en masse. We clearly are not making progress -- despite the glory of modern science and technology. This evidence is overwhelming and to believe otherwise is to be in illusion.
The foundation of what Serge Benhayon presents to us is that we are human beings, with an emphasis on "beings", and that our true nature as beings is energetic and therefore eternal. Modern science does not contradict this understanding, beholding that everything, therefore including human beings, is energy, and that energy can be neither created nor destroyed.
Our future undoubtedly is, eventually, to realise our true nature and live accordingly. To do so, i.e. to truly evolve, is actually a return to that which we are -- energetic, eternal. And implicitly therefore our true abode is not in physical form, bound by time and limited in intelligence, but in energetic, unlimited formlessness, connected to the whole and therefore with limitless intelligence.
SERGE BENHAYON is a most extraordinary man, here and now among us, who has realised and lives our distant future.  He presents and makes accessible to humanity the way of return to our essence, with a level of wisdom and multi-dimensionality never before made available to us. What he offers us is true evolution, through understanding of the qualities of our future as human beings and how to live, walk and move in our physical form in those qualities now, if we choose to. Therein is the path of our return to our essence, our true self.

What's on offer as presented to the world by Serge Benhayon, as I have found it to be, personally, and observed it to be for many others around me, is simple, powerful and effective. It is the solution to the innumerable, seemingly unsolvable problems that beset humanity. It is The Truth.
As I said in my first email to Serge, in a world so full of the contrived and artificial, bringing it back to my much loved simplicity:  At last, real flowers!

EMAIL TO SERGE

On 15-Feb-16, 6:41 PM
To: Serge Benhayon

Dear Serge,

It’s the morning after Livingess 1 as I write this. I don’t have your email address at this point, so I’ll send it later...

Just a short message to convey my thanks for and appreciation of you and what you presented to the group at Livingness 1 yesterday.

In a world full of so called religions that are artificial, when one’s essence finally encounters true religion and people living it in the moment, there is no mistaking it. It’s like encountering a bunch of real flowers for the first time, after lifetimes of nothing but quite lack-lustre and contrived artificial flowers.

So, there’s no mistaking you and what you’re on about. There’s no mistaking UniMed and The Livingess. There’s no mistaking any student of it ...  at last, real flowers!

The last five weeks since I met Jenny and she introduced me to Universal Medicine has been a truly significant span of time for me. If I distill the implications down to a couple of words, that would be: Life Changer.

I’m beginning to understand that coming into the sphere of UniMed and those living in it is something like stepping into the field of a particle accelerator. I’d take this analogy a step further and say I’ve even had a couple of sessions inside that accelerator while it’s been turned on. Livingness 1 yesterday was one of those times. I recognise that after the acceleration there’s some inevitable inertia in my understanding, as it lags a little to catch up and realise the benefits of the actual reconfiguration that’s resulted from the acceleration.

At this stage, in my present understanding, my biggest “take-home” from L1 was the exercise of feeling the attraction, the pull, between myself and another as we stood a short distance apart. That’s a game changer for me – so simple, so tangible, so objective.  It may be the first bridge I’ve encountered between religion and science, as I’m confident there is a level of physics at work there. It makes religion undeniably real, so the implications of this one point for me are immense – foundational.

The appreciation exercise followed a close second – that one really cracked me open, as Jen will attest!

I’m sure there are other “take-homes” from Livingness 1 yet to emerge fully in my understanding, and I do understand I’ve barely scratched the surface so far with UniMed.

So I have a lot to look forward to!

With love and appreciation, Pete

'The difference is that Serge Benhayon lives, exemplifies and presents to humanity our future.' - I have never looked at it this way, but, yes, it is exactly what Serge Benhayon is reflecting to us all through his every movement. He is living the truth of how we are all innately meant to 'be' with each other, the truth that will one day come to be as we return to our divine selves and live 'that which we are'.

Yes - Serge is showing us how to live the future now, but as he also has shared we are already masters, simply returning to what we already know. This makes the the Way of the Livingness very tangible and real so that if we so choose we could also live that future now.

Beautifully said Willem. We can choose to 'live the future now' or stay comfortably in our choices from the past. The first acknowledges with every movement that our present choice lays the foundation for our next choice, our next movement, whereas the second way lets us think we are powerless to change things and that we need something else, something from the outside of us, to bring change about for us.

“... The difference is that Serge Benhayon lives, exemplifies and presents to humanity our future.”

It doesn’t matter for how long one calls oneself a student, and it doesn’t matter if one calls oneself a student at all. The truth here is: Serge Benhayon presents HUMANITY our future..

The student body formed itself around Universal Medicine and this is utterly understandable if one gets in touch and feels the truth about what is presented. But the key point here is, that what is presented is for humanity the way out out of the wayward and miserable ways we live in today as a society, as countries, in our economics, our relationships, our education and our health - and our religions.

"The difference is that Serge Benhayon lives, exemplifies and presents to humanity our future." Thank you Pete for so simply presenting us with the key and essential nature of Serge’s work that strikes such a different context amid the myriad of religious views that literally keep us in the Dark Ages. What Serge presents, he lives to the hilt in a modern world dealing with current issues, raising families, running businesses, exposing the rot and always a focus on what is ahead, living the quality of our future now. A completely different religious perspective that at long last is pointing us in the correct and true direction, Evolution.

Humanity is lost in its own creation as we do not belong to be in the human form in the first place, the human form that is "bound by time and limited in intelligence". Therefore it is so important there is that reflection of another way, the Way of The Livingness that is lived and presented by Serge Benhayon, Universal Medicine and many of its students that provides us a way out of this illusion, back to where we naturally belong.

"SERGE BENHAYON is a most extraordinary man, here and now among us, who has realized and lives our distant future." The pivotal difference that has rehydrated our very flat relationship with religion is the 100% focus on what we are returning to in our future by living it today. This is not science fiction gone mad, but a true re-connection to our inherent intelligence, "energetic, unlimited formlessness" that we originated from, re-presented to us in living example of what it means to be a Son of God in the 21st century and beyond.

What I love is I know that the articles I read about people meeting Serge Benhayon are just a few because in truth, Serge Benhayon has touched so many people's lives but not everyone takes the time to write about it. And even if you don't ever meet Serge, just knowing someone who has been living the teachings that he has shared, can inspire you and change your life forever.

A fake flower looks likes every piece the real deal but that is where it stops, for the other senses are left bereft of the smell of the perfume, the touch of the petals, the sound of the bees drinking in the nectar and is some cases even the taste of the flower itself, as well as the way we feel when we allow all our senses to 'drink in' a flower in full bloom. The point here being that a fake can look every bit the real deal only if we numb our other senses and rely merely on the images our eyes receive. In this way we have constructed a reality that is like a cardboard cutout version compared to the full rich depth of our multidimensional selves. Then along comes Serge Benhayon and presents the truth of who we are – no bells or whistles, just a deep knowing that calls us back from the reduced way we have been choosing to live, so we can all once again reinstate the beauty we are and are from. Thank you Peter for this very gorgeous and very affirming testimonial of truth.

I too am a fellow student of The Way of the Livingness and have been for 6-7 years now. Reading this today I got to see so clearly that absolutely YES, Serge Benhayon is bringing humanity's future to the present. We are energetic and we are eternal, we are much more than the human doings we live right now, and are connected to this vast universe more than we can comprehend. Another wonderful testimonial to Serge Benhayon but also a testimonial to you Peter for the way you didn’t allow anything to get in the way of what was being presented to you by Serge. There are so may presenters out in the world that we have allowed ourselves to be fooled by, hoping that what they are presenting are in fact the answers to all life’s questions that we have been seeking for so long. What I loved about Serge was that he asked us to not believe what he presented but to feel it for ourselves; now that to me speaks volumes of the lived quality of this amazing man.

Your amazing blog felt like a piece of history, a junction on the timeline of humanity that will be studied and referred back to in the future as the moment when we begun to see the truth, the bigger picture. You have beautifully encapsulated what so many of us have felt and to read your unfettered appreciation is a glorious tonic at any time - but somehow feels even more profound at the end of a year - a year that has been so gigantically influenced by my studying and living of The Way of the Livingness and then also before a new year, that will, without question, bring greater and deeper revelations and learnings for all of us; whilst at the same time also being a year in which the desperate state of humanity will be exposed even more dramatically. (And them ours) Thanks to the quality of Serge Benhayon's Livingness and what this enables him to present, we are now aware of what is truly available to all of us, should we so choose.
Each and every member of the human race is being asked to take responsibility for the quality of their own way of living. We are also all being asked to accept our personal responsibility for the role we have chosen to play in the creation of how the world currently is.

In Livingness 1 the simple exercise that everyone is invited to take part in demonstrates our interconnectivity. We are so much more, Serge is just presenting the tip of the iceberg in terms of our true intelligence and expression, and this tip is already way beyond anything currently lived. Keeping our sights firmly fixed on what is ahead, both positive and negative is a huge responsibility and one that Serge does with immense presence, wisdom and grace, delivering all we need to evolve and prepare for what lies ahead of us, both positive and negative.

What a beautifully expressed appreciation of Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine Peter, thank you. What is shared here brings into question the whole world of evidence based practice. As is so very clearly exposed here, our 'backward looking approach' is not producing the anticipated fruits of true health and wellbeing – quite the opposite in fact. Perhaps then it is time to question whether we are on solid ground or not and look at the basis of the evidence base itself. What assumptions is our evidence base itself based upon? The teachings of Serge Benhayon offer us all much to ponder in this and many other regards.

I agree Peter, there are so many issues, atrocities and seeming mysteries on earth, and we can live life head down, never looking up and realising that there is more to life than meets the eye, and that we belong to something far grander than simply the physical flesh. If anyone took the time to listen to one of Serge Benhayon's presentations they would realise that Serge makes absolute sense, in a world that doesn't make sense, and he brings a breath of fresh air in to a stale merry-go-round of life that never seems to get the root of the issues - just sticking plaster solutions. "In a world full of so called religions that are artificial, when one’s essence finally encounters true religion and people living it in the moment, there is no mistaking it."

What I find is so different is it’s a living way, it’s not words and knowledge, as the qualities of the soul such as love and truth are an energy before they are words (and these words are often bastardised word) so the quality is what’s connected to and lived from. As you say Serge’s work is simple, powerful and effective – I have certainly found this for my life also.

I love your use of the metaphor "at last, real flowers". In a world which we have built on lies after lies, and in our deviation from our true expression which would equal that of God, even the highest pinnacles of 'good' are as deceptive as artificial flowers masquerading as the real thing. Yet we have been blessed that throughout history we have had Soul-led individuals like Serge Benhayon who by their example remind us of our true nature.
And now more than ever it is obvious that each of us needs to live the same to the best of our ability so that the whole of humanity can also see the true among so much that is false.

Yes indeed, Serge Benhayon is able to see past the illusion of our 'advancing' technology and shows us clearly the mess we are in, without judgement, without criticism, just presented as fact. He also shows us how we can live in a way to get us out of the mess too. All of us, not just individuals, we are all in it together and together we will evolve. The timing us up to us, we can delay but not stop anything.

What a blessing Serge Benhayon offers us by explaining the truth of who we are, for this isn't something it seems we are close to discovering and re-connecting with for ourselves. Yet with this truth, we can choose to align with the love that we are now, straight away, and live our life as a true reflection of who we are, which may in turn inspire others to connect with the truth within themselves, as we are all a part of the same whole.

Engaging with Universal Medicine and becoming a student of the Ancient Wisdom restores a deep purpose to life once more, enabling us to become aware of our very innate sense of our multi-dimensional awareness, power and responsibility. Serge Benhayon masterfully re-connects us to the true flow of universal intelligence through a living quality, eyes firmly fixed on what is ahead of us and lovingly informing, preparing and supporting us to once again resume our true path of evolution. I love what you say about what the difference is between Serge Benhayon and Universal Medicine and everything else - I have been a spiritual new age tourist and traversed the world searching, I have searched within academic theories and universities, and many other places, and never have I found anyone or anything that immediately felt to be truth, and, different in that my whole body responded - and this is not an 'intellectual' talking head way of presenting, as you say, Serge Benhayon walks the talk, talks the walk, and lives and breathes what is presented - which is so different from everything else.

Peter toy speak in your email of the exercise where 1 person stands opposite another. When I first did this I was sceptical in my mind - but then I allowed my mind to just explore what would happen. I felt the connection to my body and by natural movement - boom - I was pulled straight to the other person. It is one of the very practical ways in which Serge Benhayon presents the truth of who we are.

I love this exercise too and yet during my first experience of it I was so embarrassed at the potential proximity of someone I didn't know very well that I freaked out and let my anxiousness prevent my body from moving! However once I had let go a lot more and had another stab at it a few years later I realised just how strong the energetic pull is to connect with another. Agreed - a very practical way of showing us that everything is energy, that we are made of it and that in truth we are all one with a natural imulse to connect! This exercise shows that whilst we are all feeling we are separate and like to keep it that way in truth we are not and when we get ourselves out the way it is indeed very natural to want to be together and to connect.

I recall expecting to get through this experience and get to a point where I can sit back with the thought that I have arrived.

It felt like a really distant memory that he was tapping into, like a way that I used to live and had since forgotten, everything was so familiar and felt almost impossible to live in our current age....but he's proved that wrong, it is possible to bring it all back to the simplicity of being who we are and not living in complete separation from one another.

What Serge Benhayon offers us is a transformation because we have slipped so far away from who we truly are it can feel like a huge journey and yet the return is simple, just a breath away you could say. All that we are is already within, which is why his presentation make so much sense - we already know it, can feel it, but for many of us the comfort of where we have got to is too great for us to change immediately, but eventually our bodies scream at us and we cannot but listen.

Pete, I will always remember the exercise you described of standing in front of another and being magnetically pulled in their direction. This was the confirmation for me that life is about energy, that we are all intimately connected and it is this way of living that is so natural to us. For me this changed Everything, how I viewed people and how I connected with them.

I love reading this testimony Peter. After several years of attending Universal Medicine presentations I am more aware of barely scratching the surface of the deep wisdom that is on offer Serge Benhayon"

“To truly evolve, is actually a return to that which we are -- energetic, eternal. And implicitly therefore our true abode is not in physical form, bound by time and limited in intelligence, but in energetic, unlimited formlessness, connected to the whole and therefore with limitless intelligence.” Just the being reminded of this by Serge Benhayon and having myself and all others related to in such an honouring, itself has totally turned my whole life and my relationship with people round.

'He presents and makes accessible to humanity the way of return to our essence, with a level of wisdom and multi-dimensionality never before made available to us.' This is so true, it is such a privilege to know this man. And if I allow myself to live the livingness of what he presents then I reflect however much I live it to others, what a beautiful responsibility.

All I can say is that I am enormously thankful that I am around in this era and have a man like Serge Benhayon sharing as much wisdom as he possible can by his own lived way that he has consistently dedicated his every choice to, so he is then able to bring through the teachings of the Ageless Wisdom. Because Serge is so real and down to earth he is able to make it so practical. This is what I have love about Serge is that I really and truly connect with him and what he is presenting on this level. Great testimonial Peter.

I've been listening to Serge Benhayon's presentations for over twelve years now and every one I learn something new but it's not really new, I already know it, he's just reminding me of what I know. even listening to sermons from five years ago there is a refresher because something I perhaps didn't take on then has more meaning for me now. Life offers many moments when it is obvious that there is far more to us and to life than what humanity has en mass resigned itself to. In those moments we have a choice: to try to ignore/defend/attack and dig our heals in to carry one as before, or to be inspired and look to see how that may apply to us. What a gorgeous reflection you are Peter Cavanagh of consistently choosing the latter.

Throughout the centuries there have been world teachers who have presented much of what Serge Benhayon is presenting now, but we didn't listen then and the world didn't change. In the past people were tortured and killed for teaching the Ageless Wisdom but these days there is no physical harm, but abuse via Social Media. Despite that, this time around we are all listening and this time the message is being heard and we are on our path of return - we've always been on it and the delay has been our choice and many hundreds if not thousands are choosing to no longer delay.

"that our true nature as beings is energetic and therefore eternal" As a fellow student of The Way of the Livingness for the past 7 or so years, I can say that for me, it has been an unravelling to the truth of the matter, that we are indeed energetic and eternal. It is like I have a deep knowing in my body that it is true, but there are layers and layers of ideals, beliefs, pictures that get in the way of living that.

It is a loving work in progress to unravel these, let them go, and live the divine eternal energetic being that I/we all are.

When Serge Benhayon presents that we are beings before we are human, I get a sense of being a part of something far greater and more stupendous than anything that this earthly life can provide, and so, the purpose of life changes focus to become more about discovering what that greater source is and what my part in it is, and how can we, together as a one humanity return to the glory and love that we once knew.

So we are shown something that we know and recognise as the truth... do we then have the commitment and dedication to pursue that deeper or do we allow ourselves to retreat back into the safety and comfort of whatever self-serving bubble we have created around us. What's more this isn't a one-off choice...it is an every-moment commitment and only through the surrender of our self does this become a joyous choice rather than a dogmatic chore.

To know that the humanity living the deepest dearest qualities known in my innermost being is not just a distant past my every cell is aware of, but that it is also our future - a future every single one of us is immutably moving towards - and when we en mass reach this quality, that is not the end of the line.
That there is no past or future as such in the way we have been looking at it, and time is not what we think it is.
And on top of that having someone unwaveringly live that reality among us, showing irrefutably that we can live that amazing ‘future’ right here, right now regardless of what is happening around us in our current world.

Serge offers us all the way back to ourselves and out of the misery we live in today, by living and reflecting how to do it. For all of us to see and witness that it can be done.

You are right in your observation of humanity not evolving - based on the state of play this is easy to see - and yet amidst this all we have a presenter such as Serge Benhayon who continues to challenge the status quo - he represents evolution in its entirety and does not hold back that we are this too.

There is something interesting happening when we look at the being-ness of the human being as being part of an energy source - a source that can not ever be created or destroyed. And what I find interesting is how when this is looked at by many, often the question of faith and belief will find its way in to the equation. But, perhaps the being-ness of the human being could simply be seen as an energetic fact that needs no further exploration other than to live it and to discover its truth for oneself. And although this is not the chosen perspective of many, I still feel that it is a truth worth holding on to.

Humanity is in some ways forward looking but not in a true sense. The thing is that what is on offer is at most a better version of the present. What Serge Benhayon presents is how the future can be like for all of us if we heal the hurts and peal our layers of protection and abandon any identification of wellbeing based on securing our lives. That, what he offers, is for all because it belongs to us all equally.

As you have shown our world is not working Peter..... to still have wars after the 2nd World War shows how little we have learnt and been willing to change. Until I met Serge Benhayon in 2005 I had met no one who could answer that question and since then I have been presented with the answer and many others on a regular basis by this amazing man. My first meeting came about due to a friend's daughter being unable to keep her appointment for a session with Serge. On the drive home, my friend asked me how the appointment was. Without thinking, I found myself saying that it was the closest I could ever imagine being with the energy of Jesus Christ. My jaw dropped as I heard this come out of me, as I just don't speak like that. My friend nodded and I fell silent for the rest of the three hour journey home, so deeply felt was the significance of my time with Serge - an innate recognition of the inspiration a person walking their talk offers all they meet.

'Put simply, meeting Serge and discovering Universal Medicine and The Way of The Livingness has been transformational for me.' This I can also attest to and there is no doubt that hundreds and hundreds of others can also say the same.

Pete, your words are full of wisdom, love and appreciation. It is so beautiful you aligned to the teachings straight away and was very ready for the reconfiguration as you've describe.

Your analogy of arriving at Universal Medicine was like finding the ‘real flowers’ of life after living in a world of artificial ones, albeit very cleverly created ones, is brilliant. We have got so used to those artificial versions that it is actually quite a shock to be presented with true beauty and exquisite perfume, but once we have, those fake versions become a thing of the past. And it is through the presentations of Serge Benhayon that we are offered the “real flowers of life”

Pete this is a great analogy
"I’m beginning to understand that coming into the sphere of UniMed and those living in it is something like stepping into the field of a particle accelerator. I’d take this analogy a step further and say I’ve even had a couple of sessions inside that accelerator while it’s been turned on. Livingness 1 yesterday was one of those times. I recognise that after the acceleration there’s some inevitable inertia in my understanding, as it lags a little to catch up and realise the benefits of the actual reconfiguration that’s resulted from the acceleration.” I know that it takes a while for my body to catch up with the embodiment of the energy speaking for myself it is because I have not been living in the energy that has been presented for so long it takes time to adjust. When we accept a high vibrational energy into our bodies then there is a discardment of the denser energy that we have taken on, sometimes this discardment can feel grotty but the end result is always worth it because the body then feels more expanded and light.

The teachings of Serge Benhayon are simple but very profoundly powerful.

I have found that sometimes my body does need to catch up with what has been presented in the workshops and courses but the more I take care of myself by building a body that is fit and healthy the easier it becomes to assimilate the energy. To me my body is now like high performance car that I take great care of by making sure it is finely tuned so I take greater care of myself then I have ever done previously and I love to take care of myself it is very enriching.

Reading testimonials from people who have just met Serge and The Way of The Livingness are always very touching. To hear how people have lived their lives & then what their take is from the presentations, how it has transformed and the changes they are making can inspire even the most given-up.

My first encounter with Serge Benhayon I had a feeling of confirmation inside me about everything that he expressed. No need to believe or confront anything, but just feeling the truth resonating in my cells and the celebration of finally listening it by someone who fully claimed it. A constant inspiration since then..

Great writing Pete, I recognize everything you say about Serge Benhayon.
For me it took quite a while to fully grasp what he is offering to me, to humanity. But if you see it, there is no turning back. It is the truth. A truth I want to live, and by living show humanity there is indeed a way out of the suffering we have been for so long.
