Simon Williams and Serge Benhayon
by Simon Williams

I met Serge back in 2002 while on holiday in Byron Bay. I was not in the best place at the time feeling very hurt by life, the Universe and everything, and was looking for some time off to escape and certainly not for inspiration on how to be more.

My wife and I had organised a session with him on Boxing Day, and all I wanted was a nice, comfortable, relaxing massage.
True to expectations the hands on part of the session was awesome, but it was the few minutes of conversation either side that started transforming my life.
Rather than helping me to escape or offer me sympathy, Serge encouraged me to look deeply at what I was doing. Why was I doing it? What was the quality I brought to life? How could this be something more than just a job, but be about something bigger and grander. To ask the big questions of ‘Where is the Love?’.
Over the years I got to know Serge and his family well – I watched his kids evolve into the deeply inspirational people they are today, and likewise he has been there to witness and support my kids in their unfolding.
In particular I remember a conversation nearly 8 years ago now, when Serge made the simple comment that he would be the best friend I had ever had.
I’ve pondered that statement many times over the years. It was made without any hint of irony, bravado, or arrogance. For a couple of years I did not really understand, thinking it referred to spending time on holiday, surfing together, sharing many meals and celebrations. But that was not it.

Serge has a commitment to looking deeper, beyond life’s temporal outplay, that has stood out over the years and proven his prophecy to be true… because Serge has encouraged me over the years to look beyond what is simply happening in front of me. He has encouraged me to read why something is happening. To be aware of so much more than just my own small world. To open up to people from behind the hurts and petty jealousies that keep us small, and let people see everything I am feeling. And to connect… not just with other people but with myself.
It’s that connection that hit the jackpot in establishing a divine relationship.
I was always very interested in God in my teens and early 20’s, and searching and reading widely around the many different religions. However, I was never able to connect all these incredible ancient teachings into the modern world and my everyday life. At the same time my temporal world and my busyness would crowd in and distract me from exploring it further.
Over the years my friendship with Serge, and consequently the Way of the Livingness, has given me daily access to this divinity that is both all around us, and always inside of us.
His teachings provide the perfect guide of making life about the divine, by contemplating that relationship in the everyday. God can be found in anything from a simple walk, brushing my teeth, driving my car, through to how I am with my kids, or presenting in front of other people. The magic of the Universe is communicating with us from every angle.

To bring it full circle to my original problems back in 2002, I have now found God hanging out at work… and this provides me with inspiration in my job as an Accountant and Businessman. Its been quite the turnaround and I now draw deep inspiration from my work. Quite the counterpoint to my experience in the same job nearly 15 years ago.

Serge has been constant and true throughout all those years. His friendship has never backed away from calling me out when the need arises, from always asking me to be everything I am, and constantly showing me that there is more to this world when you start to understand that energy is everything.
I thank God for having met Serge all those years ago, and that’s particularly easy now because I’ve noticed that He is always walking right beside me!

In life we are often deft of the awareness that the divine is in every day life. With the support of Serge Benhayon this truth is becoming more and more prevalent for me.

It made me smile when I read you recalling Serge Benhayon saying “he would be the best friend you had ever had” and after a period of wondering if this meant hanging out, surfing together and other things we normally associate with being friends and loving one another, you realized that he was talking about something much much bigger. During the time that I have know Serge Benhayon, my understanding of, relationship with and expression of love, care, support, responsibility and friendships has deepened enormously – and the example he provides by how he lives alone invites me to keep deepening all areas of life constantly. This kind of friend, one who reflects and inspires us to be all that we are, is indeed the best friend anyone could ever ask for.

It's true Golnaz when we think of friendship its usually someone to hang out with, have a few laughs and release some of life's tensions. But as with everything else about life Serge presents through his lived experience another way to live... and in this case another way to be a true friend.

So very true Golnaz. The nature of friendship that Serge Benhayon offers is not based on hanging out, going shopping, sharing a pint or a game of pool or indeed any of those things we commonly associate with 'friendship'. Friendship with Serge walks us into a whole new realm of care, consideration, inspiration and responsibility, one that continually pulls us to spread our wings and express all of our God given talents for the inclusive benefit of everyone, not just an elite few.

This is lovely Simon. I don't get to see Serge Benhayon very often myself but the connection remains warm, constant and true. I can rely on him to always, without exception, be completely honest with me and with very few words. The love that accompanies his words never wavers. They always impulse me to be more, to expand my awareness and understanding of life, of me and of love. That is a true friend.

A best friend indeed is one that "never backed away from calling me out when the need arises, from always asking me to be everything I am, and constantly showing me that there is more to this world when you start to understand that energy is everything". A best friend introduces you to the truth, presents a way to live it and calls you back to it.

Thank you Simon for writing this as it aptly captures the wisdom that Serge Benhayon shares with everyone. Developing the ability to read and understand why things are happening and to connect more deeply with ourselves and God on a daily basis has supported me to come out of a life where I would hide and shy away from people due to feeling hurt. This significant change is all down to Serge Benhayon and his constant encouragement and his will to not hold back who he truly is. Our entire world is blessed beyond measure because we have this man walking with us today.

All too often we can think that our lives are too hard and blame whats happening on other people, but so often we are missing what is happening right under our noses. Serge's ability to help us see this is quite astounding, and he never fails to support us when true support is needed.

Beautiful to read Simon of the relationship you have built with yourself and the relationship you have with God and Serge on a moment to moment, day-to-day basis. What stands out for me with your relationship with Serge and also my own over the years, is that love, honouring, respect and understanding is always there, and that is something you don't find in every relationship. Never have I ever felt judged or criticised by Serge and because of this reflection it shows up when I am doing the opposite to myself or others closest to me.

Serge Benhayon has presented me with so much wisdom over the years and I could write the longest list of the tools (gifts) he has offered me to live in a way that is so far removed, beautifully so, from the life I was struggling to just exist in, but one of the most life changing gifts was to become “aware of so much more than just my own small world”. My world had shrunk so much over the years, and me with it, so to expand my awareness of the world around me and all those who live in it has been a transformation that I have lovingly and joyfully welcomed.

A beautiful testimony Ingrid that applies to so many of us, caught into our own affairs and struggling to get through each day. Serge Benhayon restores to us a Universal perspective of brotherhood and shows us through his own example how to open our hearts and let one another in, how to accept nothing less than the best in one another and how to care enough to pull us to his level, rather than stoop down to ours.

It is the mark of a true friend when they do not hold back from expressing whatever needs to be expressed - both appreciation and love, and the things we find very challenging to hear because they ask us to take an honest look at the often stifling comfort and irresponsibility that we have been choosing to live in. Serge Benhayon is most definitely a true friend (the first I had) and I feel deeply blessed to have him in my life.

A testimony to God - God is in everything - in all of us. Similar to Simon I was not so convinced what I heard or was taught about God growing up. I did not feel it or truly understand what was mostly religious or the acts of good and kindness did not deeply impress me consistently. Serge did impress me; and always has deeply touched me like no other. His words over the years still resonate with me too. What blows me away the most is how much I feel heaven when he presents, and now I have a strong foundation of my inner-knowing to feel heaven in all I do. Thank you Serge and Thank you Simon.

This Serge Benhayon does with not an ounce of pomp but with a great humbleness that comes from the deep knowing that we are each the equal Sons of God, no greater and no lesser than each other and the everything we in-truth already are.

Your experience of Serge Benhayon leaves me in no doubt of what a friend truly is. To come from disillusionment in life, to an experience of God and the divine in all of its aspects… I cannot imagine a more meaningful and profound turn-around – all due to letting Serge Benhayon into your life, as friend, teacher and the deepest inspiration, for what already waited within you Simon.
My own story is similar – I didn't realise the level of disillusionment and lack of truly living, until coming to meet Serge, and the work of Universal Medicine. Add 15 or so years on to what was clearly already a well established working career, and there would be few who are feeling as deeply committed and connected with the divine in their work as you've described Simon… For the most part, we (humanity) seem to crave whatever achievements are possible, whilst longing for the 'escapes' – the time-out, the holidays, the rewards, the retirement…
To discover true connection and deep meaning in one's work is surely a fundamental key to truly living our lives in full. It's deeply inspiring to read this Simon, thank-you.

Serge offers a friendship to all of us and it is on us if we take it. This is a friendship that is not based on being nice to each other and so support us in comfort and holding back. It is a friendship that offers evolving and expansion, what requires a willingness to take reflections as a point of evolution and not see them as something against us.We are called to be more, to express more of our origin - not by Serge Benhayon, but by our all religion, what means our connection to God. Serge Benhayon is the most awesome friend anyone could ever want for, never afraid to call you out when you are not being your self, always there to lend an ear and offer wise council that consistently includes the bigger picture and our responsibility within that. Serge has empowered so many of us to reconnect to the Divine within us and to see that God really is everywhere, even in those unexpected places like an Accountants Office, not in the usual guise we are lead to expect but in the magic of opening our hearts and connecting to people, appreciating the gifts we bring one another and supporting us all to be all we are.

'I thank God for having met Serge all those years ago, and that’s particularly easy now because I’ve noticed that He is always walking right beside me!' I love the playfulness of this knowing that you don't need to go anywhere in order to connect with God and that He is always right there walking with you. An awesome reminder as I can forget this when I focus life on what is going on outside of me rather than within me.

This is a very interesting point Simon - Serge Benhayon presents (and lives) 'making life about the divine, by contemplating that relationship in the everyday'. My relationship with the divine is reflected and lived in my every day seconds. And I see how my life makes more and more sense to me, by realizing, claiming and expanding this fact. To connect again with the divinity and sacredness in me is enriching my life and all life. How do you call a friend who is supporting the reawaken this kind of relationship? A true friend? A amazing friend? Ahh, you've said it already Simon: a divine friend. Definitely I sign this!

It is wonderful to ponder on what a true friend is and what that means in my own life, how I am with others and how they are with me. Where calling out another because they are not choosing to be love in that moment may be seen as stirring things and causing an argument I am realising that it is one of the most beautiful acts of love I can offer another. Thank you Simon for sharing a beautiful blog about your unfolding in your relationship with yourself and in your relationship with Serge Benhayon.

A testimony to true friendship - a relationship in which the truth is shared with absolute love and integrity and there is no holding back in calling each other to step up to all that we know we are. It is often someone else that will spot when we are playing games of less, or arrogance, or avoidance... and I know I am more and more open and accepting of guidance from a true friend since meeting Serge Benhayon and choosing The Way of the Livingness as my religion.

Hi Simon. One of the many things that make Serge Benhayon so easy to connect to besides the love and humility he holds everyday is the fact that he does walk beside us. There is never any separation in that he looks down or in judement or comparison only absolute holding of the precious and divine souls that we are. Instead of looking at how to fix a problem, which only achieves a short-term solution, one "read[s] why something is happening" a greater understanding than one's "own small world" is gained and by doing so a door to find a resolution to the problem is opened.

I would often puzzle over the words 'Divine' and ‘Friend’ before I met Serge Benhayon. I never really felt like I truly understood what both words meant. However all that has undergone a radical shift in my perception, thanks to witnessing a strong living example of both in Serge. Divine is an innate quality to be lived, not revered or spoken about in hushed tones, but to be really claimed within and lived to the full. Serge is a Master of Divinity, a person who knows exactly how to honour, appreciate, cherish and respect himself, his family, his friends and all he meets. A Friend is a person who will always tell you the truth, even when you don’t want to hear it and who will never let you be less that your amazing self. Once again Serge raises the bar on what it means to be a friend, a man who has befriended thousands of people and offers them a true experience of consistent, reliable divine friendship.

When we see life as just a surface show, of shapes and patterns that have no meaning, there is a despondency and disillusionment that can set in. This is because deep down we all know this is not true. There is no accident in anything that happens to you, no 'wrong' situation and a huge layer of meaning to every experience. When you start to read that these meanings exist you get to be free finally of the disconnected surface. Thanks to the support of Serge, we all can start to see the infinite beauty and multi-dimensionality of the universe as you have painted it here Simon.

We do not get brought up to develop our own connection, wellness and self-love. It is not a selfish endeavour, building this relationship enables us to express this love and hold others within it. Building a relationship with ourselves does open up the divine within every day life. I have felt this to be true.

'His teachings provide the perfect guide of making life about the divine, by contemplating that relationship in the everyday.' I love this statement Simon. If we reserve God for high days and holy days then we are surely living in disconnection from who we truly are. If we come from God we are equal to God, but only if we connect to our divinity. Learning that divinity can be practical and everyday has been a revelation to me. Yes we can find God in brushing our teeth, driving the car and doing the washing up. Knowing God is in all these things takes the functionality out of them and gives them real meaning and purpose.

And I have also know Serge Benhayon and his family for 10 years now not as intimately as you may be but the level of support and encouragement is no different between us. He shares himself equally with everyone he meets there is no holding back at all. The open and engaging way he has with everyone he meets is rare, but as those that have met him grow in their own awareness it is becoming quite normal to drop the guard that we all have with other people and let them feel and know the love we have inside us is the same love inside them ... how amazing is that :-)

But what I came to eventually appreciate is that he always urges us to question everything he shares, something I really struggled with in the beginning as I had had a tendency to always believe what someone was telling; I just wanted to know the answer without having to determine its truth. This is a great question to ask and I feel one that we should all ask ourselves with regards to not only the work that we do and how we are doing it but our life in general, friendships, relationship with ourselves and how we are living. Serge Benhayon lives in a way that is so loving to himself and all around him that he emanates that love and that reflects all what is not loving. It is up to the people who meet him if they are open and ready enough to become more aware about how they live and what is not in service to the whole. That is also why you see sometimes people reacting the opperside towards Serge as they do not want to go there, they want to keep it how it is in their life. It is the choices we have in life.

I love having friends like Serge Benhayon and Students of The Way of The Livingness, simply because the connection and interaction is one based on more than just the mundane physicality of life - the understanding and lived quality that there is more than just the physical outplay gives life a richness and depth of meaning and vitality that is otherwise lacking.

I agree, I was always interested in what God, Soul was about, I was not brought up in an organised religion, but I always felt more than the life we just see..."His teachings provide the perfect guide of making life about the divine, by contemplating that relationship in the everyday." I love that my relationship with God and with religion is about how I am with everyday life, my Livingness, from me this is the only way.

This question Serge Benhayon presented you with really caught my attention 'How could this be something more than just a job, but be about something bigger and grander.' To see the bigger picture - that life is not all about us but about Humanity as a whole - that is the bigger and grander-ness about who we are and what we do. If we all lived from this grandness the world would be very different.

'I ca so relate to how your 'busyness would crowd in and distract me'. This is so easy to do, so easy to make all the goals and targets we have in work and all the things we have to do at home, making 'doing' the all important thing, then we are lost to ourselves and our connection to our Divinity in all that busy doing. Serge Benhayon gives us tools to step away from that way of life, it's up to us to use them.

That's what we get when we meet Serge Benhayon and open for what he presents & lives: "few minutes of conversation...started transforming my life". We are so familiar with living comfortable that it can be a big challenge to meet him. As you said Simon: all you wanted was a nice massage to relax - and see what you've got: sense in life, true religion, and so much more... This guy rocks our boats in the best way I can say from own experiences. Thank God for such a friend!

I used to have massages to escape and relax. It was my way of indulging and letting go.bit it certainly wasn't asking me to be more. I too had my first session with serge expecting a massage and boy was I wrong. I had the deepest sleep ever and it showed me how exhausted my body was - something that I had not felt before. It is not everyday you can say that thanks to the friendship of a man, you know God, but when it comes to Serge Benhayon it is true in the more normal way. It is through having been friends with Serge over the years, witnessing his deep love and care for people and his commitment to truth, that I first learnt to trust in the possibility of true love, and then to see it else where, to realise that there was a 'something more' and that something more was God.

The real sign of the amazing friendship that Serge Benhayon offers so many people, self included is that it rubs off on us. What is given is so solid, generous and consistent in cannot help but inspire us to replicate this friendship for others and hence spread this much needed quality of integrity, honesty and deep care around the globe. His living example has taught me the true value of friendship, something I questioned for many years and consequently now have a living model to learn from and embody in my own friendships. And this is what friendship is all about, empowering one another to expand our love, honesty and awareness and take responsibility for every inch of our lives.

"Rather than helping me to escape or offer me sympathy, Serge encouraged me to look deeply at what I was doing.' What I so appreciate about Serge too is the encouragement to look at the root causes of things and not accept the status quo or to indulge in the symptoms of the choices we have been making. In getting to the root causes of things I have learned again and again how easy it is to heal things that have felt overwhelming. The overwhelm doesn't necessarily come from the hurt itself but the fact that is has been held onto and protected, precipitating a whole host of reactions and defences.

He never seems to tire and the way he presents himself is the same whether he is on stage presenting or talking to people in the breaks. I have never come across anyone else like him, he is the most consistent person I know his approach to life is one that I am also having a go at and it does work. Making life about the divine is what Serge Benhayon does so well and not like any religion on earth that I have ever come across. For my whole life I wanted to live a deeply religious and sacred life, but this always seemed to mean forgoing family life, career, and social responsibility. To live with sacred ritual and rhythm seemed to go hand in hand with social isolation and leaving your family behind. Serge Benhayon is the first person that I have ever met who presented a way to live that is deeply religious, sacred and divine all in one, and still takes out the trash, drives the kids to school, pays the bills, cooks dinner for his family, talks to the bank clerks, goes on family holidays, the list could go on and on for all the normal and very human activities that he is involved with. Showing us that it is never ever what you do but how you do it that makes life a divine act of livingness.

"What was the quality I brought to life? " This is something I have been avoiding. I am quick to point out when others or situations are not loving or caring, but I have not been wanting to look at myself and the quality I bring to life, which in truth is not great. I am always wanting to escape. I have a lot to look at each day, and in a good way, from the quality of work I produce for kids what's the intention behind it, as this is wha they are feeling and getting way before they even see the lesson or picture, this does not feel great to feel, because it is not loving, it's often laced with need, emptiness, or recognition. The same can be said for every part of life, what is the quality I am bringing to my home, the people that live here, my relationships, family, cooking, cleaning, how and what I eat, the way I drive, get dress, shower, communicate, even the quality of how I walk in a room or a school without saying anything - what is the quality and imprint I am leaving for it affects everyone way beyond that school. I have to say it's often laced with emotions. This comes down to everything. Thank you for writing this Simon, a huge and uncomfortable realisation for me, truth sometimes brings a very loving ouch with it.

It is such a support in life to sense and know that Serge is walking besides me, showing me the way to go and providing advice when needed. And that also made me understand that we are not alone, never, we are all together, walking the same path back to Soul, and to me it is this support from one another that keeps me choosing to make my life about returning to the love I belong to.

'To look deeply at what I was doing'. This advice could go out to 7.4 Billion people, for we all need to that. We live our lives unaware of what impact we have, unaware of what our choices are doing to us. It's only when we get a big stop, that we will do a stock take of our lives. To have this advice is gold.

'To open up to people from behind the hurts and petty jealousies that keep us small, and let people see everything I am feeling. And to connect… not just with other people but with myself.' Most often we don't want to see behind the hurts and jealousies, we want to stay small and see the face value, not what's behind it. To take the step away from the personal and not make it all about ourselves, that is pulling us up to see the so much more that we have to offer here.

True friendship is about supporting, appreciating and allowing one another to express all our love, wisdom and integrity in the world and nothing less. In my lifetime very few people have been there for me like this, yet Serge lives this consistently with every person he meets ... now that is love. And this is beautiful 'Serge has been constant and true throughout all those years. God was there all along, I was the one blocking him out in all kind of ways, never seeing what were the consequences of my actions. Through Serge I came to know how to make my life devine, let God manifest itself and through Serge I am becoming aware of all the ways I chose to block out God becoming tangible in my life.

Serge Benhayon knits all the components of our existence together into one seamless expression, bringing together God, philosophy, science, relationship and friendship in to one daily way of living. He has transformed our understanding of what it means to be in this world but not defined by it, to identify the truth amongst the lies we have fabricated and re-unite us with our real essence. Serge is without exception the finest friend anyone could wish for.

This is constant and very true, "because Serge has encouraged me over the years to look beyond what is simply happening in front of me. He has encouraged me to read why something is happening. To be aware of so much more than just my own small world." I was caught and still get caught but the small things and while detail is great, it's not great when it's used against the natural flow to life that is there. When we get bogged down in life and begin to grind it out we know the picture has become small from our choices. There is always time to get your head up and keep reading the 'why' and allow the answers to unfold from there.

You make God so very accessible in what you share here Simon, just as Serge does in his presentations. A true friend does not collude with us in the lower vibration we may have chosen but instead consistently offers the higher one as a means to arise ourselves back out of the mud of our own choosing. For what is love if it leaves us lesser than the everything we are but may not be living yet? True love helps to restore this beauty and a true friend knows exactly how to do this.

The more I make my life about energy first the greater the joy I bring. Life without having the understanding of energy doesn't make sense to me. Energy is everything to me and it is because of Serge Benhayon's inspirational way of living that I am learning to live my life where every movement made is because of energy that is either aligned to love or is not from love.

The thing to remember to consider is - if we are given gold from someone, who ever they are, what is it worth if we do nothing with it? Nothing at all. It is by using the gold to transform ourselves that we show the worth of this pure gold that is Serge Benhayon.

"To open up to people from behind the hurts and petty jealousies that keep us small, and let people see everything I am feeling. And to connect… not just with other people but with myself." And so we are empowered to allow people to see our fragility and beauty that we have learnt to keep hidden behind closed doors and hence the opportunity to build true friendships is delivered to us, from a living platform of Love.

Beautiful Rowena. Allowing people to see our fragility is actually a gift. It shows how is possible living in our sensitivity and vulnerability and that it's a choice which makes us not weak but stronger than ever.

'I thank God for having met Serge all those years ago, and that’s particularly easy now because I've noticed that He is always walking right beside me!'

Simon this is a very beautiful testimonial. I particularly loved reading this last statement. Coming accross to this point in life is a life changing experience because it frees up with the idea about a relationship with someone is about meeting, hanging out, entertain one an other or filling whatever need we may have. Like you I feel closer to Serge Benhayon and his family more than ever, even though we don't talk with each other and we are living in different countries.
The fact we are not physically together doesn't prevent me to feel part of his precious family too and to appreciate their committment and love to share with all that we are much more. Thanks having met them I get to feel the livingness that confirms me what love is about, a quality that can be lived and shared in every single moment with everyone and ourselves.

Simon you raise a very good question we are so busy 'doing' life and getting by that I wonder how many people actually stop
''To ask the big questions of ‘Where is the Love?’'.
It is the biggest hurt that we carry around with us like a ball and chain because we do miss love and we all seem to be seeking for the secret elixir. Serge Benhayon makes it very plain - indeed we are love everything about us is love but for many of us this is not our reality. I have come to understand that we have built a false reality of life one devoid of true love but we cannot stop feeling the unsettlement in our bodies because the particles that make up our bodies are aligned to the universe. If our particles are aligned to the universe how very grand is that, so what is it about us that we live lives completely opposite to the grandness we come from?

Serge isn't the type of friend to side with you in a right/wrong situation, give sympathy or indulge you. However, he is the friend that confirms, highlights, reminds you of how grand you are and the part you play in the world.

'Where is the Love?' A great question to ask and also to read how from reading about God you know naturally, deeply and innately know this and this connection and vibration is part of your every way every day. Very inspiring.
